Teething 7 month old
My beautiful 7 month old angel baby is teething. My babies teeth early. Off and on since 3 or 4 months old. It's such an awful time watching them suffer. All the tears in their eyes...ugh.
Well with my daughter I was learning how to deal with it. I was 23 and she was my first baby. I just took my mom's advice which was to give pain medicine (acetaminophen if they're under 6 months ibuprofen after that). And what the doctor recommended, which was frozen teethers. But that wasn't working well for her.
When your child is teething they're not themselves. They cry until they're sobbing and inconsolable sometimes. They get runny noses sometimes they get stuffy. It's even possible when their teeth cut (term for when their teeth come through) they can become swollen or bleed a little. It's all normal. You may see them shake their head from side to side, get a mild fever, put their finger in their ears scratching which they may cut themselves accidentally (they do this because their gums are itchy and it feels like it's in their ears), slobber endlessly and of course chew on everything.
A teething baby with their momma
I like doing things as natural as possible. So the least amount of medicine I can use the better. Yes I could just let my baby chew my knuckles raw (ouch!) or their fingers but I would like something more. So I kept searching and i'm not sure how I stumbled upon them but I thank God I did. Maybe it was on Babycenter I always was on there with both pregnancies ( especially with my son). I'm not sure but either way this is the only remedy that worked for her and saved my sanity. Like I said I was a new mom but even if I wasn't at the time. It's tough. And were always learning new tips and tricks as we go.
Hyland's teething tablets! I purchased them immediately and they worked perfectly. They melt easily under the tounge. You can test this out yourself for piece of mind. Anyway within 10 minutes my baby girl was calm and her happy self. I knew then if I ever had another baby I needed these in our life lol. The tablets got recalled because they got some bad press. So I was worried for when I'd have another child because like I said these were life savers. And I don't believe the claims but everyone does need to do their due diligence. Research before you give anything to your child.
I did have another baby hence the reason for this post. And hes just the happiest baby ever. But when it comes to teething he's just miserable. I was worried until I had heard that they created some oral pain relief tablets. I was like YES!!! I've since used them and they're great but not perfect. The formula is similar to the teething tablets but not the same. I still recommend them. If this is your first time using them with your babies you wont notice the difference of course.
I've heard of using clove oil and vanilla extract to numb their gums. Never tried it but it's worth looking into. The tablets are very helpful and if you have tried everything else to console your beautiful angel then I think it's worth a try. I made this post because I'm always getting asked about what I do for my babies in regards to teething. Whether it be from my mom groups online or in person by family. So I hope this was helpful for you and your baby bear.
